Carved from Osesi wood these pieces are embellished with a row of cowry shells down their spine and a mosaic made of glass beads from Krobo, Ghana. These buffalo are decorated with the Akan adinkra symbols NYAME BIRIBI WO SORO (“God is in the heavens” – symbolizing hope) and SEPOW (”The executioner’s knife” – symbolizing justice).
